Dr. Kazem Vafadari Mehrizi is an Associate Professor at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, Beppu, Japan. He has been advising the tourism industry of Iran on marketing and destination branding as a founding member of the national committee for Iran tourism branding.
He is also a specialist consultant in Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems for the FAO, and in Satoyama in Japan.
He teaches tourism policy and research methods. From 2008 to 2011 he was Research Fellow at the Institute of Nature and Environmental Technology, Kanazawa University, Kanazawa City, Japan, and JSPS-UNU Post-Doctoral Research Fellow, United Nations University, Institute of Advanced Studies UNU-IAS, Kanazawa City, Japan.
